Read Telugu Newspaper Eenadu in Firefox

I read Eenadu newspaper daily and the font rendering was working fine only in IE and that was forcing me to use IE. Then I found a way to read the paper in Firefox. This might help all you guys who read Eenadu and are Firefox addicts like me :)

On Eenadu homepage (www.eenadu.net), there is a link 'Font Help'. Click on that link and they have clear instructions to download and install a font. The steps are easy enough to follow and once you install the font, Eenadu paper renders very nicely inside Firefox.

One word of caution is not to install additional Telugu fonts. If you install more than one Telugu font, they may not play nice with each other and the font rendering goes bad again.

Update : It seems that the font link on eenadu.net is not working. Download the font here and follow the same steps on the eenadu.net font help page to install it.

  40. Hi Madhu,

Some times if you want to keep any interesting article for future reference, I use to copy the content and paste it into a word document. But when I try to convert the word document to a PDF the Adobe Reader is not able to convert all the fonts and junk characters are appearing. I had installed Eenadu fonts on my laptop longback following the instructions in Eenadu site. I think there might be a way to make the Eenadu font work for Adobe Reader for converting to PDF documents also. If you find any solution please share as I am sure many face the same problem.

    Thanks
    Rajesh
